Treating Lax Skin

2 minutes read

Lax skin is caused by two types ageing of the skin:

  • True ageing also known as natural ageing.
  • Photo ageing-caused due to the toxic effects of sun exposure, smoking, and pollution.

Other than ageing, Lax skin can also occur due to the sudden change in the weight of the body.

There are a number of treatment options available that can increase the collagen and elastin, resulting in the tightening of the skin giving it a firmer and younger look. The treatments available are included:

  • Medical needling
  • Dermal Fillers
  • Carboxy Therapy
  • 2D Skin Rejuvenation

Carboxy Therapy

This therapy is being used for many years. In this technique, a CO2 injection is used which improves the microcirculation and skin slackening. It causes a sudden mechanical distension to help treating sagging skin and significantly improves the oxygenation of cells. The injection can be injected at two different depths in the skin, the Dermis and hypodermis. The therapy is used to treat inner arms, thighs, neck, chest and face. Apart from treating sagging skin, it also improved blood supply and brightens the complexion. One may need 6 sessions for sagging skin of the face.

Medical Needling

This technique incorporates the use of specially designed FDA roller with microscopic surgical stainless steel needles that are rolled over the skin. Tiny punctures are created within the epidermis, and Dermis to encourage the skin’s own natural response to create collagen and elastin, hence treating the lax skin.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Filler can’t help with excess sagging skin. They are used in combination with other skin rejuvenation treatments such as a cosmetic injection to treat the skin condition.

2D Skin Rejuvenation

It is a power-packed treatment aimed at targeting the visible and underlying effects of aging including lax skin. This treatment takes a three-tiered approach for complete skin rejuvenation by combining Limelight (IPL) also known as Photofacial.

Here are treatments that can help you get rid of lax skin. Contact a skin care clinic near you and take suggestions from the practitioner regarding the treatment you should undergo.
